Climate of Arunachal Pradesh

The climate of Arunachal Pradesh differs largely from place to place due to variation in the altitude.

The upper Himalayas near Tibetan border experiences an Alpine or Tundra climate while the middle Himalayan region has a temperate climate. The regions on the sea level experience a humid sub-tropical climate, with hot summers and mild winters. This is the characteristic of the climate of India in most parts.

The state receives an annual average rainfall that ranges from 80 to 160 inches (2,000 to 4,000 mm), most of which is recorded between May and September.
