Arunachal Profile

Arunachal Pradesh, the 25th state of India was a part of Assam till 21 June 1972; after which it was conferred the status of a union territory and was governed by the President of India. The UT attained its statehood only on 20 Feb, 1987 with its capital at Itanagar.

A peaceful state in north-eastern India, Arunachal Pradesh is inhabited mostly by tribes who have their own traditions and languages. There are numerous sites to visit in and around the state especially the Buddhist temples, forts, wildlife sanctuaries, lakes and many more…

Area-wise, Arunahchal Pradesh is the largest state of the North East region of India. It forms a complex hill system of Shivalik and Himalayan origin and is blessed with numerous rivers and streams.
