Tawang District

Tawang is an administrative district of Arunachal Pradesh with its headquarters located at Tawang town. The district is situated on the Northwest extremity of Arunachal Pradesh. The district is surrounded by Tibet in the North-East, Bhutan in South-West and West, Kameng district in the south East. The district derives its name from Tawang Monastery which is located on a hill top.

Tawang is the hidden paradise on earth. Perched on ridges and surrounded by thick forests the district has majestic monasteries, lakes and distinct hamlets. Some worth visiting sites are yet to be explored.
