West Siang District

West Siang is a district of Arunachal Pradesh with its headquarters located at Along. The district derives its name from the ever flowing river Siang. West Siang district is located in the central part of Arunachal Pradesh and is bounded by China on the North, Upper Siang & East Siang districts on the East, Assam on the South and Upper Subansiri & Lower Subansiri districts on the West.

The West Siang district is a homeland of several tribes including Galo, Minyong, Bori, Bokar, Pailibo, Ramos, Membas & Khambas who make the land ethnically rich and diverse. The area is endowed with many species of orchids, flora and fauna.

The nearest railway station is located at Silapathar. Buses and taxis are available towards Along.

Road:

One can also reach by bus or car from Likabali and Pasighat. Buses/Taxis are available from North Lakhimpur or Itanagar.
